Why is your site anonymously-run?
We want people to concentrate on what we’re saying, not who’s saying it. We feel it helps keep the conversation remain on-point, and we don’t want to distract from the site’s purpose by throwing in additional variables. It’s also important that the spotlight be on the work and the people we’re featuring, not the site’s authors.

Who contributes to the site?
The authors of The SLC Egotist are varied in their talents and interests, making the site robust and perpetually fresh. We invite everyone in the community to write editorial at any time. We’re happy to give credit to anyone who takes the time to craft a piece or they can choose to remain anonymous. Since we are still new we are looking for a few great writers who would like to assist in operating as our eyes and ears.

Is the site associated with an agency?
Despite what you may have heard or think you know, The SLC Egotist is autonomous and not connected in any way to agencies in Salt Lake City or even to The Church.

Will all work submitted be featured?
No. The SLC Egotist posts information and editorial relevant to the demanding creative connoisseur working in Salt Lake and beyond. We’re critical with our recommendations, as it is our desire to become a trusted resource. All work and links submitted to The SLC Egotist will be examined with a critical eye. The top work will be featured.

How can I advertise with The SLC Egotist?
Contact us. Ads must meet a certain graphical standard and format, so it is best to communicate with us directly. We can also provide rates at this time as well, if you give us an idea of what you are thinking.

Are you LDS?
A common question heard around town. This is irrelevant, we are here to be a neutral voice in the Salt Lake City Community.

Why has my comment or forum thread been deleted?
It was likely deleted because we thought it was harmful. And that’s against the rules here. If you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face, don’t say it. It’s that simple.

Can I start a version of this site in my own city?
